Welcome to my site for Chris Friel for Brantford 2010.
Yes it is true; I am running for the position of Mayor of the City of Brantford.
I firmly and fully believe in the honour of serving the public through a political life.
My intention is to run a clean and positive campaign, which will highlight a strong and well defined vision, positioning Brantford for the future. If the people of Brantford choose me as their Mayor, I promise an open and inclusive administration, and I will work diligently to ensure that all citizens have a voice in the direction of their community.
Brantford can be a great community with the exceptional living experience of a 21st century city. It will require each and every one of us to pull together and see our dreams become reality.
Brantford & The Six Nations
The Three Pillars of the Chris Friel for Brantford campaign are relationships, education and communication.
Our relationships with our neighbours in Six Nations and the County of Brant can make us a strong economic and democratic force, or they can leave us weak and throwing hundreds of thousands of dollars at a problem that money can't solve.
I have built positive successful relationships with Six Nations and we can do this again - Brantford can be the model for successful aboriginal/municipal relationships for all of Canada.
Downtown: Harmony Square
The City of Brantford has a number of challenges in the months ahead, and our success will be based on having an open and inclusive government.
What we do in the downtown, can no longer be a closed and exclusive process.
A successful future is guaranteed when as many people as possible are involved in the decision-making.

The most exciting part of running for Mayor is the opportunity to meet with thousands of Brantford citizens and ask for, and listen to, their opinions. The best way to listen and hear people is to meet them face to face (and that is still the number one form of communication with the Chris Friel for Brantford campaign team), but for the first time in Brantford's election history, we have new technologies that allow many more people to have their say on the important issues facing our community.
As a candidate, I have the opportunity to let you know my thoughts, ask you questions, and to follow the discussion that ensues.
The following video is the first of many to come; short statements on the issues that you think are the most important. They are in no way meant to be the final word on the subject, but rather, a starting point to engage the community in an open and inclusive dialogue.
Let me know what you think, and please join us on facebook Chris Friel for Brantford or on Twitter frielformayor. Let's come together and create the exceptional living experience of a 21st century city.
